# Editing or Creating Product Creator Fees

## **About**

When a product is created, the org. can set a Product Creator Fee. On a successful completion of a project with in a product category. The creator(s) are paid a fee. The fee represents an equity stake in the product that is paid out as passive income for creating a product. It's used to incentivise creating new products within Deep Work as an organisation, rather than 'going alone'. 

### Mechanism

We use [0xSplits](https://app.0xsplits.xyz/split/) to create one address for each product split when multiple users created a product. \
This address is added as a user in the Deep Teams application.

## **Creating a new split** 

**E.g. for a new product** 

* Use the [DEEP token treasury Gnosis SAFE](https://gnosis-safe.io/app/eth:0xFeC28F3f5011CcAbF2dC4945fFbd1ADfAa29c235/) to create a new 0xSplit\
  \&#xNAN;*Using a SAFE adds an extra layer of security and allows for editing the split in the future.* 
* Use the 0xSplit application within Gnosis SAFE - accessible within apps or via: <https://app.0xsplits.xyz/split/>&#x20;
  * Recipients:&#x20;
    * Enter the address and percentages of the users to receive the split of the creator fee.&#x20;
  * Distribution Incentive:&#x20;
    * Set to zero percent.&#x20;
    * There is no need to set a fee return to the distributor in the system we use.&#x20;
  * Split Type:&#x20;
    * Mutable&#x20;
    * Make sure the controller address is the SAFE address&#x20;
    * This means the split can be edited in the future.&#x20;
* Update this documentation with a link to the new split and amounts (as above).&#x20;
* Update Deep Teams application with a new user:&#x20;
  * Go to the [Deep Teams](https://dsp-web.vercel.app/) application
  * Create a new user with the following details:&#x20;
    * Ethereum address of the Split created above&#x20;
    * Name: "Creator Fee - \[Product Name]" - e.g. "Creator Fee - Branding"
    * This means when a project completes, the project owner can pay the creator fee to one address and the split we'll be automated.&#x20;

## Editing a Split&#x20;

* Follow the process above&#x20;
* Within the 0xSplits application, you'll see the option to edit an existing split when the correct wallet is connected.&#x20;
* Update the necessary spreadsheets and Grids (as above)
