# Depreciating a Department

**Criteria and circumstances:** 

* Depreciating a department can be decided by representatives before being put to a governance vote. 

**Moving Funds:** 

* The representatives need to decide where to send any remaining funds too. This could be another department (if merging or a responsibilities are changing) or the the Treasury. 
* In Apps there is a "Drain Account" application if there are multiple tokens or assets in the department. 

**Deleting the SAFE:** 

* Find the SAFE at [List of SAFEs ](https://docs.deepwork.studio/working-at-deep-work/creating-projects-and-payments)
* Go to Settings / Safe Details 
* Click "Remove SAFE" 
* Confirm the transaction 
* Get a second representative to confirm the transaction 
* Execute the transaction.
